Baker Boy is a Yolngu rapper known for creating hip hop originals whilst fusing English and Yolŋu Matha to create a truly unique musical experience.

Gela is the artist’s first full-length studio album and is filled with guest appearances from fellow Australian artists. Uncle Jack Charles, G Flip, and Yirrmal Marika appear on the album and add to the sounds and stories being created. The lyrical content tells stories of Baker boy’s life as a Yolngu man and having to adapt to the world around him and his forever-growing identity.

In the track Meditjin, Baker boy sings that ‘music is the meditjin” which means medicine in his native language. This album as a whole is the best meditjin and deserves a spot in your collection.
