American Singer, songwriter and R&B guitarist Barbara Lynn Ozen was born in Beaumont, Texas and played piano as a child before switching to the guitar, which she plays left handed. She is best known for her hit song “You’ll Lose A Good Thing” which features on this compilation. 

Uncommon during her time, Lynn was a female African American singer who both wrote most of her own songs and played a lead instrument. Lynn toured with many big names such as Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Otis Redding, James Brown and Al Green and had her song “Oh Baby (We’ve Got A Good Thing Goin’)” covered by the Rolling Stones.

This release features a classic funk, soul sound. Coupled with catchy lyrics and rhythmic guitar strumming patterns, this compilation will have you grooving to the tunes right away.
