“Quarter Century Classix” came to life when Ben Lee found himself snowed in and trapped in a lonely Chicago hotel room. With nothing to do and nowhere to go, Lee reflected, and listened to some of his favourite songs from the time where he had first visited this city. 

Time spent listening, learning and recording gave Lee the foundations that were to become the album. Lee remarked, ‘I wanted to make this record a tribute to these bands, to these songs, and to the irreversible way music can touch and transform the life of a young person’.
