Kerby Rosanes’ intricately detailed, ink-inspired art comes to life on Mighty Jaxx! Drawing from the classic image of a distress signal—a rolled-up paper sealed inside a bottle—this piece serves as a poignant commentary on the consequences of widespread marine pollution. It highlights the fact that while humans will bear the brunt of the environmental damage we’ve caused, nature will continue to adapt and thrive.

Employing a unique dual-casting technique, the bottle is rendered in translucent polystone, mimicking the appearance of an iceberg. Inside, a skeletal figure symbolizes the demise of humanity. Encircling this sombre core is a vibrant marine ecosystem, featuring sea turtles, corals, and more, flourishing around the bottle.

The message? “In the end, nature will adapt and thrive, but humans will face the repercussions of the problems we’ve created,” explains Kerby Rosanes.

About the Artist:

Growing up in a small town in the Philippines surrounded by rice fields, rivers and mountains, Kerby’s body of work is heavily inspired by the natural world with a whimsical and fantasy twist all rendered in his black-and-white universe. Working with pens, ink, and markers, his detailed illustrations landed him projects with global brands, features in several exhibitions, magazines, websites, and TV shows and publish international best-selling art books.
